About the event
Tabletop games have entered the public perception due to hit shows like Stranger Things, and actual-play media like The Adventure Zone, Critical Role, and Dimension 20. These games range from classic high fantasy like Dungeons & Dragons, modern paranormal games like Monster of the Week, and quiet, cozy social-driven games like Wanderhome. But what draws us to explore worlds that aren’t our own and the lives of other people? And what can playing out these alternate realities tell us about ourselves?Â
In this new group from Autism Personal Coach, we’ll discover how tabletop roleplaying games allow us to explore facets of our own identity and experience, and grow our compassion for people unlike ourselves. Ranging from topics like neurodivergence, queer identities, national culture, and the practical applications of exploring emotions and conflict in a safe environment, Identity in Gaming has a place for everyone as we apply the fantastical to our own lives.
